Beer School
A Monthly Class to Promote Beer Education and Appreciation
.... A Little More About Beer School
There are certain subjects you wish were in the curriculum back in college. Luckily, Duke’s Alehouse has turned your dream class into a reality. Learn the ins-and-outs of beer at their monthly Beer 101 School. Sit down with a noted expert and have fun being schooled. Students will study several beers, learn about styles, pairing food & beer, tasting and brewing techniques, cultural and interesting facts. They will also get to try complimentary small bites that have been expertly paired with the beer selections.
WHAT IS DUKE’S BEER SCHOOL?
You will taste at least 6 Seasonal Beer Offerings to taste and compare in 3-4oz portions.
Selected small bites made up special by our fantastic kitchen for pairing.
List of Resources for further study on the subjects that we cover that month.
How to taste and evaluate a beer. How to write up tasting notes for your personal files.
Learn what styles are in season and their history and significance.
Find out which new/rare products are available in the area.
Socializing with people who have similar interests … beer, that is.
In the late spring (outdoor class) we will have a class and demonstration on how to homebrew.
I can also customize classes for your private group for a nominal fee.
